Vaping Is Better Than Smoking

Vapers are a passionate bunch, and a vape expo is the easiest place to find a crowd of them. When we filmed at the Vape Showcase in Atlanta, we asked attendees to tell us, on camera, why they chose vaping over smoking.
Here’s what that video was about, and the facts worth knowing today if you smoke and are thinking about a change.
Short version: This post shares what vapers told us, not medical advice. Nicotine is addictive, no vaping product is FDA-approved as a quit-smoking aid, and if you smoke and are considering switching, talk to your doctor first.
What we heard at the show
We got a wide variety of opinions and insights. What stood out was how many of the people we spoke with said they had done their research before switching from cigarettes, and felt they had made an informed decision for themselves.
Their reasons were personal, and no two were quite the same. That’s the point of a video like this: it’s a collection of individual stories from adults who vape, not a scientific comparison. For a closer look at the bigger debate, read our guide to vaping vs. smoking.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to talk with us.

Where things stand now
A few facts are worth knowing today. The federal minimum age for all tobacco and vaping products has been 21 since December 2019, and every vaping product sold in the US needs FDA premarket authorization. Public-health bodies still disagree on many of the details, so get current guidance from the CDC and the FDA, and talk to a doctor who knows your health history. Our guide to the question can vaping help you quit smoking covers more.
WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. For adults 21+ only.
